Why no 2010 Catalog?

This year, Busse Gardens will be publishing a 2010 supplement to its 2007 Master Catalog, but we will not publish a complete 2010 paper version of our catalog. We will have the 2010 complete catalog on line in printable format.

The electronic catalog is online now and available from the link at the left.

Why aren't we publishing a 2010 complete catalog?

Actually, we are doing it for those of you who buy plants from us. As with most mail order businesses, we send out many catalogs to people who never place an order. Even though we charge for some catalogs, the price does not come close to paying for design, printing and mailing. The difference has to be made up out of plant sales. That means that if you buy plants, you subsidize the catalogs for those who do not. That isn't really fair and this is how we have decided to deal with it.

If you ordered in 2008 or 2009, we'll automatically send you a 2010 supplement with a new order form. These were mailed the second week of January, so you should receive your copy any day if you haven't already received it. If you need a new copy of the Master Catalog - the 2007 printed catalog - let us know and we'll send you one.

For people who have not ordered, there will be a $3.00 charge for the 2007 Master Catalog along with the 2010 supplement. We'll include a coupon for $3.00 off on your first order, so the catalog is free if you order.

This policy will allow us to avoid raising plant or shipping costs for 2010. Also, we will be devoting more resources to the internet, which will result in more up-to-date information on plant availability and the ability to add new plants throughout the year.
